Greetings players of Syncro! Sensational September has arrived so what does that mean? A new monthly post of course! minimonkey76 and Sidrat105 were among the top voters last month so they have been rewarded with web points. Speaking of points, there's currently a sale running in our shop so now's the best time to buy those commands you've been after.
Jumping right in, the Brotherhood of Green-Wood won last month. If you're a member of that faction, be sure to visit /pax and claim your victory key. Even if you weren't in the winning faction, there's a defeat key waiting for you that still has some good stuff. Factions were touched on briefly in last months post but here's a summery for anyone still clueless. When you first join the server, you have to select a faction. As you earn EXP from /mcmmo, you'll level up on /leveltop. At the end of each month, the faction whose members have earned the most levels, wins. You can view the faction scoreboard with /ftop.
Server raids are something new that was introduced to Syncro recently. These will occur normally every two weeks and entail you battling past hordes of custom mobs to earn some amazing loot. The basic idea is you warp to an area filled with both custom mobs and loot chests. These arenas are normally split into multiple sections. To advance to the next section, you must find all the tokens and trade them for a key. This goes on until a player (or team) makes it to the final section with the winning loot chest. You will need to bring your own gear to fight but you won't lose any items if you die. Raids are hosted at certain times on set dates but will always be announced in advance on our Discord server.
All variants of custom mobs now spawn naturally. That means if you're /level 750 or higher, you may have to deal with nuclear slimes and dragon spiders. Since there's been a lot of questions about how custom mobs spawn, here's some of the answers.
- The tier of mob that spawns depends on your /level but may be higher if you're near someone with a higher level.
- They only spawn naturally at night and will burn away in the day.
- It's not random spawning, it's every three Minecraft hours.
- There is a limit to how many can spawn around you
- Torches and other lights do NOT stop them spawning.
- Custom mobs created by spawners don't burn away during the day.
There's not a great deal more going on update wise. We've still been working to improve and fix some of the stuff introduced with V5 and 1.13. One in the Quiver is now back and working. Tower Defence got a devil bird update. The water absorber titan item has been replaced with the water torrent trident. The /rename command now works properly (finally). Don't be fooled though, many other smaller changes and fixes took place which you can view with /updates. Bigger content drops are going to be starting again this month so keep an eye on our Discord server for hints. You can also get an idea of what's to come by reading our roadmap.
One last thing to mention is Minecraft/Spigot 1.13 is still considered unstable. Although we've not hit any major problems, bugs are to be expected. We're constantly updating and improving stuff behind the scenes to make things as smooth as possible. We will be updating to 1.13.1 this month and this still has known bugs. More specifically, items may be lost from chests. It is highly recommended you keep dated screenshots of any valuable items you may own. Having said that, updating from 1.12 could have caused far worse problems but it didn't give us any trouble. It's just worth keeping in mind.
Like normal, if you have any suggestions or feedback, please let us know. Our community forums and Discord server are great places to get talking about your ideas. If you find any bugs, report them here or use /bug report in game. Be sure to follow us on Twitter to keep up to date with what's going on. Until next time, drink tea, live long and play Syncro!
